VIIVN
Originally from Belgium Viivn is a multifaceted techno artist that started his career playing records in 2010. After travelling extensively he found his creative home in Melbourne's eclectic music scene, relocating in 2016. Viivn has a versatile range of technical skills and creative influences that fuel his abstract musicality as a DJ and producer.
Viivn’s DJ sets are inspired by his love of vinyl and insatiable interest in the techno music genre. Inspired by his travels and Belgo-Congolese heritage Viivn’s distinctive sound is minimalist, rhythmically diverse, and uniquely progressive. He lists influences such as: Pig & Dan, Richie Hawtin, Dubfire, Sven Väth, and Paco Osuna as integral to his sonic journey. Playing locally and internationally he has supported well known artists, including: Nina Kraviz, Helena Hauff, Thomas Gandey, James Zabiela, Umek, Tinlicker and Yotto.
The 2018 YourShot DJ Melbourne Winner, Viivn opened the City Steps stage at CRSSD festival San Diego (USA) in 2018 returning to play again in 2019.
Internationally he has played clubs Spin and BangBang (San Diego) and Le Clan (Prague). Closer to home Viivn regularly plays at venues and festivals such as Brown Alley, New Guernica, Pawn and Co, Electric and Festival 23.
